NERO

A step together into dark blue. A performance about darkness for children from 2 to 5 years old  |

When looking at the night sky, with no light except for the stars, the imagination takes shape. In the darkness you can transcend your surroundings and the limits of your body, and let your imagination unfold. Upon entering a black box, the young audience is lead by the performers to sit on the floor very close to each other. The light of a street lamp goes out and darkness envelopes everything. The bodies of the performers and the spectators are really close and the walls transform into a huge black canvas. Light reflections dance across the room and suddenly, an atmosphere that might be scary becomes instead a space for imagination and play. NERO is a journey for each spectator, a new world to dive into and to let the imagination run free.

The performer and choreographer Alfredo Zinola creates his works in collaboration with other artists. »NERO« was the first piece he developed together with the American performer and choreographer Maxwell McCarthy, who studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He works as a performer as well as creating his own pieces. Following »NERO«, the two created »PARTY«, an interactive dance performance for children aged six and up.

2017 Alfredo Zinola developes a performance for the FRATZ Festival and Berlin Showcase together with the Theater o.N. Ensemble. »Affnity« will premiere on March 10th.
